Congress gulling people over the T-issue: TDP
The Telugu Desam Party went all out against the ruling congress for making a mess of the Telangana issue. Speaking to reporters, senior TDP leader Mr. Muddu Krishnama Naidu accused the congress of trying to mislead the people on the Telangana issue. ‘How could the congress term its stand on Telangana as the central government’s decision when the issue wasn’t even presented before either the Union or state cabinet? And instead blaming our party president Mr. Chandrababu Naidu for the current turmoil is ridiculous and only goes onto show the congress’ low standards’, said Mr. Naidu. The TDP leader also tried to downplay the Telangana issue by comparing it with ‘similar struggles’ in 12 other states in the country. He challenged the congress to make its stand clear on the issue of smaller states as the ruling party seems to show little interest on the issue of dividing Uttar Pradesh into four smaller states even when UP Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati expressed her interest to present a resolution in the UP assembly over the bifurcation.
