Chetan Bhagat claims “3 Idiots” as his handiwork
Chetan Bhagat, the author of “Five
Point Someone” has claimed that the Box Office hit 3 Idiots to be based upon
his book. Chetan Bhagat and one of the lead actors of the movie Aamir Khan, the
director of the movie Rajkumar Hirani and the producer of the movie Vidhu Vinod
Chopra are at loggerheads and according to sources, Aamir had advised the
producer to take legal against the book author for making defamatory
allegations. Aamir held Abhijat Joshi, the film’s scriptwriter responsible for
the story and also alleged that Bhagat was trying to take the credit away from
Joshi. Bhagat alleged that the film did not give due credit to him and only
mentioned his name at the end of the movie. He also added that many film critics
had personally confirmed to him that about 70 per cent of the movie was based
on his book than the previously claimed 2 to 5 per cent. But according to
Aamir, the scriptwriter Joshi and Bhagat had abided to their contract and that
the issue was only a publicity stunt for Five Point Someone.
