Pranab against smaller states
Union Finance Minister Pranab
Mukharjee on Saturday made clear that colleague Chidambaram’s announcement on Telangana
is not a green flag for future small states. The observation come in view of
demands from Mayawati for trifurcation of Uttar Pradesh. There are demands also
for division in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal; the
Gorkha Janmukti Morcha has already taken to the streets in support of the
demand for a separate state.
