Capability of PM important
According to
the Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, the capability of a person is
important and not his caste for being eligible to the post of Prime Minister.
Interacting with students of the Aligarh
Muslim University
in Lucknow,
Rahul told them that Manmohan Singh became the Prime Minister in 2004 as he was
the most capable person and not for being a Sikh who form a tiny minority
compared to the population of the country. He said that there was a lack of
Muslim leaders and encouraged the presence of more Muslim leaders so that the
problems of not only the Muslim community but the entire population can be
solved. “Participation of youths in politics is important. They have a vision
and the country needs them for progress and development,” the Amethi MP said.
He added that a capable Muslim can also become the Prime Minister and the
religion was not important.
