Justice Dinakaran can still become Supreme Court Judge
Chief Justice
of Karnataka, Justice Dinakaran, technically can still be elevated to the post
of a Supreme Court judge. According to experts, though the Union government has
rejected the proposal made by the apex court collegium in elevating Justice
Dinakaran sighting lack of proof in the alleged land scam, it is not the final
word. The collegium need not back down but can again send the file back to the
government and the government can only forward the list to President Pratibha
Patil for issuance of warrant of appointment. Sources pointed out that the
collegium would discuss this matter next week as Chief Justice of India K G
Balakrishnan, the head of the collegium was in Vizag.
