Another blast in Pakistan
In what is said to be the deadliest car bomb in the past
couple of years in Pakistan,
at least 92 people were killed and over 200 injured. The blast occurred in Peshawar as US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was on
her visit in Islamabad.
The severity if the blast was compared to the blast that happened during the
welcoming of the late Benazir Bhutto back into Pakistan as a result of which she
died in following weeks in October 2007. The blast was triggered using a car
bomb and it took place in the famous Meena Bazaar inside the walls of Peshawar. This market is
mainly visited by women to but clothes and other stuffs especially the poor and
middle class. The Commissioner of Peshawar,
Azam Khan admitted that it was a car bomb and also admitted that mostly women
and little children were killed. Though no group took up responsibility of the
blast, it is believed to be the work of Taliban with whom the country is at
loggerheads.
