Tractor falls into water tank
Twelve people out
of 21 travelling in a tractor met a watery grave as the tractor in which they
were travelling overturned and fell into the Ramulakonda water tank on the
outskirts of Chennarigudem village of Chilkur Mandal. According to the
survivors, all of them were going to the local Katta Maisamma temple to take
part in a jatara at Chennarigudem. The tractor trolley overturned as the driver
of the tractor applied sudden brakes on the tank bund to avoid an auto coming
in the opposite direction. Twelve people died on the spot when the overturned
trolley fell on them. The injured were admitted to the government hospital at
Kodad. 9 out of the twelve dead belonged to the Mellacheruvu village. All the
21 people travelling in the trolley were relatives.
