PRP Chief seeks review of the mining policy.
Keeping in view of the recent debacle at a granite quarry, PRP Chief Chiranjeevi has urged Chief Minister K. Rosaiah on Thursday to facilitate review over the mining policy, and to introduce perfect mining practices. In a letter to the CM, he expressed his displeasure over the way in which the rescue operations were being carried out. He said that only 12 bodies were found in 8 days after the incident. In the letter he suggested the government to form a safety committee with the involvement of people's representatives to ensure practice of safety guidelines by all the mines in the state.
