Scientist goes missing
S Anathanarayana, a
scientist at the prestigious Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) in
Tamil Nadu had gone missing for at least a week. According to Deputy
Superintendent of Police of Mammallapuram, Sambandam Murthy, they had received
a complaint about her missing husband on February 18. According to the police,
the scientist was disturbed about the health of his child and would have gone
to some temple to pray for the welfare of his child. IGCAR is one of the most
sensitive research centres of the country and deals with the construction of sophisticated
nuclear reactors. The Head Technician at the IGCAR said that Anathanarayana had
joined the IGCAR in 1997 and was a E grade scientific officer and was involved
in the development of a software for managing healthcare data of its employees
and their family members.
