One more error in UN Climate panel
The Dutch
government asked the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to explain
its figure in a report in 2007 that said that 26 per cent of Netherlands was
below sea level. The IPCC agreed to have inexactly stated that 55 per cent of
the country was under sea level and was the only area risking flooding. The panel
had earlier wrongly said that the Himalayas would completely melt down by 2035.
The panel agreed that 55% figure was the area of the country that was “at risk
of being flooded”. The panel postulated that the inaccuracy did not change the
conclusion of the report.
